'I am Willem' shows us the world through the eyes of the eight-year-old Willem. His parents are divorced and he lives with his mother in the crowded city of Amsterdam. His older brother Mick lives with his father and girlfriend Sherida. The weekends they spend together and they experience a new adventure every episode. Mick is Willem's hero because he acts in a way, Willem wouldn't dare. Willem himself has a rich imagination. As a werewolf flying through the air, he escapes the sometimes hectic reality.
