When the intellectually disabled Bennie turns eighteen, he sets up a tent in the garden and refuses to come out, protesting his family for not allowing him to live a life of his own. A statement that at first seems rather vague and trivial, but over time - as Bennie perseveres - challenges each family member to reconsider their life choices; laying bare the complexities of living with an intellectual disability, as well as living with a family member who has special needs.
